About

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16)

We are Presbyterian in terms of our belief about church government, and Evangelical  and Reformed in our theological beliefs. As such we are committed to the Biblical truths that have been carefully summarised and articulated in the Westminster Confession of Faith, to which our leaders all subscribe. We are part of the Free Church of Scotland which dates from 1843 but with its roots in the Reformation; it owes its distinctive title to its historical struggle to remain free from state interference in its internal affairs.

We uphold the Bible as the true word of God, and read from the English Standard Version (ESV). Our praise is a mixture of items from Sing Psalms, Scottish Psalter and Christian hymns. Our services usually last about an hour.

Minister – Our congregation does not currently have a minister; however, Rev Kenny Macleod, minister of Dowanvale Free Church in Glasgow, has been appointed as Interim Moderator. Each Sunday we benefit from regular preaching, which is arranged by Rev Kenny Macleod. And the Wednesday evening is led by one of the men from the congregation.  The current arrangements for meeting together are detailed in the What’s On page.

Elders – We have five elders, following the ordination on 9th May 2021 of David Kenyon, Jonathan Kenyon and William Kenyon.
